About Us
Murphy’s Abbey Pharmacy is a family owned and run independent pharmacy operating in Mitchelstown since 1908. Karen and Yvonne Murphy are the 4th generation of their family to be involved in the business after taking over from their parents Peter and Eileen in 2021. Peter’s grandfather William established the business in Lower Cork Street in 1908. His son Gerard followed in his footsteps along with his wife Maisie. Their son Peter returned to Mitchelstown to work with them in 1976.
The pharmacy moved from the main street to the Tesco Shopping Centre in 2004. We have a long history within the town and pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service, allowing easy access to services such as vaccines and lending an ear to our customers when they need help, advice or a friendly chat. Our staff are always on hand to help.
